Jennifer Persike on KCRA news in support of wildfire victims

Urban Water Institute Board member Jennifer Persike is leading the Gold Country charge to support victims of the devastating Southern California wildfires. As Chair of the American Red Cross – Gold Country, Jennifer Persike sprung into action to initiate the California Gold Country Region Telethon in partnership with local news station KCRA.

“We want to support our friends, family and colleagues during this devastating time. We are one state!” explained Ms. Persike.“ Southern California has been there for us through many wildfire disasters; now it’s our turn to show them our support.”

The American Red Cross has more than 400 workers onsite to provide care and comfort to those who have been evacuated or lost heir homes. While many of these workers are unpaid volunteers, the goods and services they provide require funding. This is where we need your help.

We invite the water community members to step up and donate to this vital effort to show your support. Ninety cents of every dollar donated to the American Red Cross goes directly towards providing emergency services like food, shelter, water, childcare, pet care and more.

So far, the California Gold Country Region Telethon has raised over $900,000 (via 4,094 donors), with more donations coming in every day. Help the American Red Cross – Gold Country reach it’s $1 million fundraising goal by donating now!
